Weingarten Rights

Members are strongly encouraged consider invoking their Weingarten Rights prior to speaking to supervision about an incident. Anything a Member states during a discussion, no matter how informal may be used against them and lead to discipline. Without representation there is no one present to document the Member's statements and provide guidance.

Example: A member being questioned under the expectation the discussion for obtaining information to share the incident with other Linemen may still be disciplined if a statement is made indicating a violation of training, procedure, standards, etc.

Wengarten Rights

I believe this discussion could lead to my being disciplined. I therefore request that my union representative or office be present to assist me at the meeting. Please consider this a continuing request; without representation I shall not participate in the discussion.
